For buying postage, do post offices in Europe in general accept US$ dollars? Thanks!

If you can buy online (some foreign postal websites will ship abroad, some won't) then a credit card would be accepted; transaction would be in EUROS with any associated exchange/ foreign currency transaction fees by your card company.

Physically in the Post Office's I am not sure but in the UK only £ Pounds Sterling is accepted. If you are in Europe yourself then you could exchange your $ for EUROS in the usual places.

Some shops in the UK accept Euros but this is not widespread.

Hopefully some other European members can advise you.

Thanks! Well, when sending cash to celebrities, they could have it changed in their own currency! :)

Yes that's quite possible, I have seen other members here get successes with sending $ to a non-us country {up}
