Good day, everyone! :) i have been visiting this site for quite some time, and now, i decided to join the forum. i just want to tell you of my situation:
1. im planning to send a mail asking for an autograph to Leelee Sobieski
2. i live in the Philippines, and have no idea on how i should send it
3. i have read some topics on the forum, but i sort of still got some questions

okay, uhm (^_^) here's my question:
are there people here who live in Philippines or other countries and then mailed a letter asking for an autograph overseas? what, and how did you do it. because, i sort of still don't get it, i mean, i understand it but just a bit or two about it.

well, i think that's all im hoping for your reply! thanks! (^_^)

I guess I would need clarification on what you need clarification on?! Your post wasn't very detailed. So, basically writing to a celeb over seas is the same as writing to one in your own country. Big envelope with stamps to celeb. Inside, LOR, photo and SASE with the stamps from the country that you are sending to (or IRCs). It will probably cost a bit more mailing it out of country, but other than that there is no difference.

I'm sorry if it isn't that detailed, i can't put it into words...

uhm, what i want to say is, i'm still confused with: the price, how much it would cost, basically what are the things needed, what are SASEs...
also, i know, it must have been asked a zillion times, but in the envelope what are the DOs and DONTs... what i must write, post what i must not.
i think that's all...
and sorry for disturbing you guys... i hope you're having a good day.

well basically to send it you can check with your local postal service for the price. SASE = Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. how ever you wrote to the other celebs that you have sent to is pretty much the same way for over seas. you will also need to either send with the letter the SASE(explained above) stamped or include International Reply Coupons/ money for them to get local stamps. and the photo to sign.

Hi fellow kababayan :)

Here's the price list for standard airmail abroad: http://philpost.gov.ph/web/wp-content/u ... rmail2.jpg
Zones: http://philpost.gov.ph/web/list-of-international-zones/

To send a fanmail abroad: you'll need a LOR (Letter of Request), SASE (8x10 in size), and photos/anything for the celeb to sign (optional).

Be straightforward in your letter. If you want an autograph, write it there. Avoid too long letters. For the SASE, you can buy stamps online, there are actually a couple of stamp sellers here on fanmail. But if you can buy stamps directly from that country's website except for the USPS. If you want to use IRCs, I think they sell them at the post office for P115. I don't use them cause they're pricey and some countries don't accept them anymore. What I suggest you to do is to get stamps =)

Hope I helped!
