Money Instead of IRCs?

Hi, I saw that IRCs were discontinued early this year, and I was wondering what I should use instead of them. I want to send an autograph request to Richard Armitage VV in New Zealand. So I did some research online, and I think I can buy some NZ stamps. However I'm not quite sure about purchasing the stamps, would putting some money in the envelope be ok instead? If so how much should I put in for an 8x10 envelope?
Thank you!

That's what I have done in the past. Granted, I have yet to get a reply....but still. The U.S. doesn't even sell IRCs anymore, so I will be sending cash because it's easier than ordering international stamps for the SASE. Good luck!!

You could send NZ$ instead of US for a better chance of success, they do a $5 note and you can get it through a bank or travel agency.

for an 8x10 i would put in at least 5 dollars US. if i ship outside the us i send cash over anything else cause it does get used all over the world.
