Question about placing addresses on the envelopes

So, when I started sending fanmail (last year), I generally didn't place the address on the corner of the envelope, as I remember I generally put it in the middle of it. I did so with the first letter I sent, which went to the US, and yet got a reply back.
Although, I heard that addresses are also read by machines now (in the US). Can this be a problem? Will they end to toss mail or return it to its sender? Just asking... As I have sent several envelopes with the address placed that way.

Thank you guys!

Do you mean just putting the address in the center to send out? If so, then you should be fine. When I put my address on the envelope (the one that will be sent back to me) I just put my address in the center of the envelope, along with the stamps, and its gotten back fine. Some people repeat the sending address or put the return address (to keep track of who its coming from) in the corner. {up}

Thanks! I guess that it should be fine then!
