Question: Return?
Hey. i was wondering wen you send mail out. And it happens that you did not put enough stamps on it. will the postal office send it back to you so you can put more stamps on it? Or do they jus throw away the mail? Thank you.

im not an expert or anything but ive never had one returned due to lack of postage.
here in australia the price of stamps has recently jumped a few cents and they are still selling old stamps(where i am anyway) and ive forgotten a few times to add the extra and have still recieved replies.

Indeed the Post Office will return your mail to you if you didn't include the necessary amount of stamps. They might include a sticky indicating how much more stamps you need.

When I first started sending letters out of the country, I didn't know that it needed more postage, so I sent it the typical USA price. 5-6 letters later I DID get one returned for lack of postage, but I have no idea what happened to some of the others.
At another time on this board, there was a similar discussion and someone said that the mail could have been delivered with the recipient paying the difference between the right price and what stamps were put on the letter.
