It's to risky to send a hardback to get signed because it will get damaged so send a paperback. If you want that person to sign a hardback just send the cover like you normally would for a photo.

@AJfan2012: IF we send the book itelf to get signed(in the book not the jacke)anhd included postage back, would u sign that?

I was just more concerned how much to send in to send it back to me..priority or not.

I don't have her paper bck..

possibly better to get a bookplate sticker and send that and then stick it on the bookg inside when i get it back? all suggestions are appreciated.

big fan of MJH i run a site on her :)

I would send Priority because you get free tracking and $50 in insurance if it is lost.

You need a padded envelope or box big enough to hold a return padded envelope and the book, plus a return padded envelope.
Address the bigger box/envelope to MJH.
Address the smaller envelope to yourself and affix enough postage (http://www.usps.com has a price calculator) for it to be mailed back to you. Estimate this by weighing the book inside the return padded envelope. Or you could include $5 or $10 etc.
Put the book, cash (if using) and envelope addressed to yourself inside the box/bigger envelope.
Attach enough postage or visit your Post Office to get it weighed and shipped.
It really is simple :)
