Larisie gave me some info on what my chances are of getting an authentic from SMG at the Girl's guide set, and I appreciate that info but I will ask again just to get some more feedback.
What are my chances of getting an authentic from SMG?
Does it all depend on the wording?
Also can you answer these please?
How many IRC's do I need?
Do they need to be stamped before I send them out?
Cheers

Some celebrities aren't very good when signing autographs. Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of them. The only successes I've seen from her to date have been either through SFM or in person autographs. I don't think she wants to be bothered by fan mail, and as such will probably not sign TTM.
Additionally, I don't believe the wording of your letter will make much difference either. If a celebrity such as SMG refuses to sign, any careful wording won't make any difference.

When sending IRC's, 1 will cover a standard letter. If you're sending a 9x12 SASE, this will require 2, but 3 to be safe.
Make sure when you buy them that the staff member at the post office stamps them in the box on the left hand side where the two letters denoting your country are.
I hope this helps. Good luck, and all the best with your request to SMG!

Cheers nowandagain, 1 more question, if I have to print out a photo to send, if it is signed in black marker pen (sharpie) as I have no photo paper, will it wreck the printout because of the ink?

I don't think it will wreck the printout at all. It should be fine
If you want to be sure, why don't you print out a small picture and use a black sharpie to test whether it would ruin the picture or not.
