As a beginner collector, I would like to ask some more experienced people if something similar has ever happened to any of you and how to explain what I have just experienced?
Some time ago I decided to send an LP cover to get signed by my favourite Swedish band.
As I was unable to find their address, I looked up some concert dates on their official website, contacted the venue - they confirmed they would pass on my mail, so I sent out the cover, SAE, LOR (4 pages, but quite small ones) and several IR coupons to be exchanged for Swedish stamps.
In my LOR I asked the leader of the band to sign the cover and added that if the whole band could possibly sign it, I would be more than happy.
Yesterday the cover came back, but : the front of it (with a small photo of the band) is unsigned, on the back there´s a message written by somebody :Best regards to (my name and surename) from (the name and surename of the leader).
AND : when I opened the cover to put the record back, I found my letter inside!
What should I think of that?
Has the leader of the band received my mail and read it at all? Or has somebody else(the tour manager perhaps) opened it, read my letter, wrote the message and the band leader did not care about it at all?
Unfortunately, I cannot check the signature for autenticity, I have never seen anything signed by him.
I am quite disappointed that my carefully written letter came back, the leader did not take it and sent it back, why?

Any opinions or ideas are most welcome! Thanks for your help.

Well, sometimes I receive my letters back as well. They usually read them and I think if they don't want to throw it away, but they don't want to keep it, they send it back. It is most likely authentic. But he just sent back your letter.

You never know what happens with your letter.
