Request to a talk show guest?

Ansel Elgort from the "Divergent" movies and "The Fault in our Stars" is going to be on the "Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon next week and I was wondering if it was OK to send him a request there. Or is that considered inappropriate since he is just a guest?
