A question

Greetings there,

I can say I'm new to this, as I haven't ever sent a fanmail yet. You will have to pardon my amateourism, but I have a question and hope you will answer it. So, I understand that I have to send IRC, and everything else concerned with sending. The thing I don't understand is how to write the main letter? What must I say? What musn't I say? Should it be handwritten? Should it be long? Can I comment his/her role or voice or look? Please, if someone could elaborate that part I'll be very happy. It would be a great thing if someone would write a letter to John Doe here on the forum so I can see how's that done. Oh, and I very like fanmail.biz, and although I found it out yesterday, I have already made a list of celebrities I would want to contact. Thank you guys.

Hey Thorium!

Ok here are the basics in writing a letter:

1. Always be polite no matter what. A celebrity always likes to be treated nicely and if you demand something, they probably won't send an autograph. Always say "please" and "thankyou".

2. Your letter could be handwritten or typed. I alternate. If I have alot of time, I handwrite. If I don't, I type. Some stars may see you took time and wrote a handwritten letter and see that you aren't just some person that is only writing to add one more autograph to their collection.

3. Try to keep your letter brief but not too brief. Maybe about 4 sentences of compliments, then the autograph request, then end with a compliment to keep a positive thought in their mind.

4. Commenting on their voice or role in a movie/show is always great!

I hope this helps. Please ask any other questions if you have them! I hope you enjoy the forum!

Kelly :)

Letter Writing

Sometimes I write letters to celebrities and don't ask for an autograph but still end up getting one, anyway. The most recent example was a letter I sent to Martin Sheen telling him how much I would miss watching the "West Wing." To my surprise, I received an autographed picture a week later! :) Btw, adm, I'm sorry about not posting in a couple of months. Unfortunately, the successes just haven't been coming like they used to.
