Besides the self addressed envelope etc... If I don't have a picture or anything in specific I want signed, what should I include in the envelope a letter? and that's it?
Also if I send a letter to a recording company how can I ensure that the specific artist reads it and noone else.

Hey chunkylover053!

When you write a letter include the following:

1. letter
2. SASE (optional)
3. IRC (put together with an SAE [self addressed envelope, no stamps] when you mail to a foreign country)
4. photo (again optional)
5. any gifts or something to give to a celebrity (I have never done this)

There is no way to really insure that the celeb is the only one going to read it, my best guess to prevent it is to write on the envelope " Please only (insert celeb's name here) read this, no one else" Maybe even "confidential" but that may be too much, its up to you.

Please ask any other questions if you have them!

Kelly :)

What are those abreviations? I don't know what they mean IRC? SASE? Besides that I understand the rest... also in the letter should I write as if I'm writing to the celeb. or the company? and should I request an autograph or will they simply send it?

O! by the way, you joined today last year! Happy 1 year aniversary.

Greetings Chunkylover,
I am an amateour myself, never wrote any fanmail yet, but I hope I can help you.

An IRC stands for International Reply Coupon. You can get it from your favorite post office. It works as a prepay coupon for a celebrity, so that he/she can send you mail back (with autograph or whatever you asked them). You will ofcourse need IRC if a Celebrity is not in the same country as you are. The amount of IRC's depends on size of the mail, but it is usualy one or two.

The SASE is an Self-Adressed Stamped Envelope. It is an envelope with your adress on one side, and a stamp. The Celebrity can use it then to mail you back. Those are usualy of A4 in size.

For autograph, you should ask Celebrity. I had a problem writing that part of the letter and Kelly helped me out. The post is at the same category as this one, so check it out.

Hope it helps 8)

ok,well.. I sent to Amanda Bynes weeks ago and have yet to recieve a response. But personally I wasn't satisfied with the letter.
Could anyone show me a letter they send to someone?(That they got a response for)

Also... If I send something that I want signed... would they dens it back (signed) or is it possib;e they might just keep it?

If I don't send anything what would they send back?

Hello chunkylover053!

It depends on the star. Some may sign it and send back to you, the others may keep it and - if they tend to answer for the fan mails - send you their own photo (with real or printed autograph).

As I wrote above, if you don't send something to sign, they will send their own photo.

P.S. Some of the stars may require enclosing a photo, especially when you're sending via venue.

Good luck!

Paul.
