Arsenal and Man United problem

I am thinking about writing to Arsenal and Manchester United asking for autographs. I send an email to both clubs asking if they still answer letter requests and got these to replies:

Man United:
"Unfortunately this is something we would not be able to assist with due to the large number of similar requests we receive on a daily basis."

Arsenal:
"Unfortunately we are unable to provide original signed items because they are retained for uses by charities and community groups."


How come?? I've seen many successes on the site but it seems that the two clubs does not provide autographs anymore....should I still try my luck?
And has someone got a success from these two clubs recently?

You Must Write To Each Individual Player Instead Of The Club
