Stan Lee

Unread post by PotterHead »

Hello, I'm new at this, but I like to collect autographs for the sake of it. I'm going to the Fan Expo convention in a week and I want Stan Lee to sign a comic book, but I don't know what to look for. I've been searching on eBay, but I don't know if I should buy the old comic books (but with poor grading), or newer ones with better gradings. If someone could link me to a comic book that would be great for Stan Lee to sign, it would be greatly appreciated!

I know it's too late but for future reference I would look up the higher priced items out there and then go by what you can afford with reasonable to excellent grading.

I'd say it depends on what you want :D The above advice is solid, in terms of value for the future. If you have a preference on what you want signed for yourself, then it's your call :D

Or you could go the Sheldon way and get him to sign a Batman comic ;)

Thanks guys! I was browsing and I came across this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amazing-Spider-M ... de3&_uhb=1
It was published for this year's convention, which makes it new and the grading is good. Would this be more valuable to get signed than an older comic book (in your opinion)?

Value is perception...

Do you want to get it signed to sell it or do you want to get something signed for yourself?

When I met Stan Lee, I had him sign a Spider-Man poster from the early 90s (Romita art) and Amazing Spider-Man Essentials Vol. 1 (the black and white reprints). I am hugely happy with them :) I've even got the poster framed and hanging in my living room.
2014 Successes:
Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)
