How do I send my fanmail?

Hi guys!
Sorry if this is literally the simplest of questions but I have never done this before and I just want to make sure I get it right.
Okay, so basically I have just written out my fan letter to Andrew Lincoln of The Walking Dead. Tomorrow I will be printing off a picture that I asked him to sign in the letter. However, after this I do not know where to go as I am sending this letter from the UK to the US. I am aware that I need to enclose a separate envelope with my address on it for him to send back but wouldn't that require an American stamp?
I'm just completely lost here, so if anybody could give me a "Sending fanmail for Dummies" guide I would appreciate it xD

Weigh the item you're sending, the whole thing, including envelopes you're sending, then look up global forever stamps, you need one global forever stamp to cover 28g so if the envelope weighs 50g you will need two global forever stamps.

If you read up more about them, you also need to add two depending on size, if the envelope is under a certain size you can get away with only using one for the size, but if it was a 12 x 8 envelope then you will need two.

I never used IRCs (international reply coupons) and supposedly they are not on sale in the UK anymore, but you can find the global forever stamps via ebay, though you will need to wait for them to be shipped from the US to your UK address.
