I looked and couldn't find this anywhere (or at least old threads with ones of pictures no longer there)

How do you exactly sign a customs form on an SASE? More specifically, the signature part? Do you sign that part or leave it blank for the celeb/agent to sign? And since it asks for the date as well, is it okay that you date it for when you send it or again, leave it up to them (does it matter about the date?)? Just want to make sure everything will get through customs alright.

Unless you're sending something of high value I didn't think you need to worry about customs?

So long as you attach the right stamps and label as photos it should be fine?

Unless you're sending something of high value I didn't think you need to worry about customs?

It's going to be in a 9"x12" envelope coming back from the UK; it's known as a "small parcel" and from what I know, I have to fill out a customs form in order for it to make it through customs.

That sounds strange as I've never really known anything like that need a customs form as such, so long as you add the correct amount of stamps I don't see an issue.

I've dealt overseas for years and rarely, for highest priced or possibly bigger parcels you may be askedx to play a customs fee, but you would be notified of this by the postal company if this happened, or by customs.

Unless I'm missing something and somebody can see something else in your post I cannot figure out then I think you really should be OK to send as you would normally.

May I ask where you're reading about a customs form, maybe this will help me understand further?

OP's sase (UK to USA) can't go as a letter under the size rules, so is classed as a parcel, which requires a customs form.

I previously advised OP for such an item it would be a good idea to use one.

Obviously with a zero value there is no question of customs charges ( and as I understand it the U.S. has a generous threshold, unlike UK!) but such items still generally need a customs declaration.

Of course it's up to the OP ultimately as to what they do.

I'm going to put a customs form on it (as required), even if there is no value (does sentimental value count?), but my main concern is the signature/date at the end of the form. I'm uncertain if I should be the one to sign and date it, or if they (agent/celeb) should do it and if the date is that important (like does it need to match the date it's postmarked or something when being sent back? Is it okay to not leave it dated?)

Since I guess I'm being ignored now (or just, there is no answer), I'm just gonna sign it and not date it and hope for the best.

Not ignored, you have to understand not everyone is on this board all day every day, but your method sounds fine, before mailing it you could just check with your mailing office and see what they advise.

You should leave it blank and leave it to the celeb's PA to sign it!

Customs label is required, as you said, because it counts as a parcel and not a large letter. I have to do it all the time and im never quite sure what to write, but I dont think i ever sign anything. You should be fine not signing it.
