Question about IRC's in USA

Hi! Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this question, but I need some help. Reading this forum I discovered USA post offices don't sell IRC's anymore, but my question is if they accept it from other countries and can be exchanged for return postage? I want to send letters to USA but I don't know if I should include IRC's because I don't know if IRC's are valid there or not.

Yes.
Members of the IRC scheme are not obliged to sell them, but they are obliged to accept them in exchange for postage.
