hey guys I am new to sending through the mail I have never done it before. So I was wondering what are steps I should take I hear of some people adding a small hand written letter but what should I say I want every autograph I received to be personalized, just to show the celebrity that I'm not a reseller. any help I receive is greatly appreciated. I've been buying off of ebay for years I have only athletes and want to open the door to actors and musicians thank you in advance

A generic version of mine is:

Dear _________:

I am a big fan of (your work, your music, your show(s) mentioned by name). Then tell them specifically some of the things you like and why you like them. Compliment their work but don't go overboard. You want to be sincere.

I am writing to ask if you would please autograph the enclosed picture(s) and personalize them to me. I am sending two so that I also have one to display at work. (I put this in to keep from looking greedy.) I have also enclosed a SASE for your convenience.

Thank you for your time and I wish you many more years of success in your career.

A lot of people only send hand written letters. I always type mine because I have bad handwriting but I personalize then and ALWAYS sign them by hand.

I've met a few hockey players which I asked to personalize and they givee a weird look as to say wow you're not going to sell these. Actors I've never tried nor musicians. Sadly the ones I looked up on this site all say rts or they dont sign and send a auto pen little card. Everything I get I want personalized means more to me if they wrote thanks for all your sport To george bla bla bla. So can you recommend any actors that always sign for fans ? Or even musicians? Hockey players I know alot of big name guys won't. Any leads on them to starty venture would be a fun way to start my week.

I've never sent to any musicians or sports stars so I can't say anything about them. There are some actors who are seem pretty good at signing and others who aren't. About all I can say for those is do a search here for the ones you want to send to and see what they say.
