Via Venue.... When's the best time to send?

I wanted to send a autograph request to someone on a movie set(via venue) I was just wondering, when would be the best time to send it for a best chance at an autograph? A few days before the movie starts filming? Beginning? Middle? End? Or does it even matter? Any help appreciated! Thanks!
