Help for foreigners

Unread post by Rud2girl »

Hello everyone,

I live in Berlin and I'd very much like to get an autograph from Gillian Anderson. I followed the instructions on the website but I still have a question about stamps. I tried to order them from the Royal Mail but at the end it says that they have to be used by the 28th of September. But it takes months to receive an autograph, so my stamps won't be valid anymore, won't they? Or did I misunderstood something?

Thanks for you help.

You understood perfectly :) The postage you're trying to buy is printed postage which has an expiry date. Therefore, not suitable for fan mail requests.

You need to buy physical stamps.

You can look on EBay or Royal Mails shop.

Please note many other foreign buyers on this forum have had issues ordering physical stamps from RM.

Buy them from the hundreds of trusted sellers on eBay, you can't go wrong.

Hello!
I'm from Ukraine and have never sent anything to any such distant country as UK is, especially a returning letter, and now I want to send a fanmail letter to an UK actor. Can anyone explain me what exactly should I do to send my letter? I feel so lost in this process and obviously can't find a clue how to organize it. Maybe I'm a dumbo :(
What envelopes should there be (I've found information about size only) and what stamps, of what value? How do I get them? How do I pay for returning my postage to me? I assume mailing system in UK is VERY different comparing to that one my country has, so I definitely need a step-by-step instruction. I would be very grateful if someone helped me.

Respectfully,
Ketrin.
