They say there is a long wait for a response usually, but I have one question to autograph collectors, on average, how long do you wait for an autograph??? This means that your request was sent properly following all steps!! thanks to all!! :D

Hi firefan :D

It really depends on the celebrity you write to. Some can get back to you quickly, others may take ages or even never get back to you :|

From the successes I've recieved back thus far, my shortest success TTM (through the mail) was 12 days, the longest being 328 days from the time I sent my letter to the time I got something back. The average of all my successes received TTM has been around 75 days (2 1/2 months). Obviously this will vary from person to person.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask :wink:

Good luck with your requests!

Hey firefan {up}

As nowandagain said the waiting times really do depend on the celeb you are writing to. The more popular ones tend to take longer to reply (or not reply at all), seen as they receive so many requests.

Here's a couple of 'figures' ( :lol: ) from how long I have waited for an auto:

Longest waiting time: About 125 days (Jay Leno, via email)
Shortest waiting time: 2 days (Andrew Flintoff and 5 other cricketers with International Sports Management)

Hope this helps!

It all depends on when, where and who you write to. My second request ever is still pending and I sent it on January 3rd 2006. I sent another request that same day and recieved it 18 days later (21st January 2006) So it's all about luck :|

Good luck {up}

Hey, how long is too long to wait for something to come back? Do you think about 5 months is the time to send another request? Thanks {up}

I agree with odhfan. I'd consider to send a second request after a year since celebrities can be very busy and might not have time to take care of his/her fanmail for a few months.

Best,
Stephan

I don't think a second request is nessessary. One is enough. If you don't hear back from a certain celebrity, that means that they don't want to sign something for you.

I wrote to Conan O'Brien in August 2004, and I still haven't heard back yet. I did send him a second request. That was the one time I went against my opinion on requesting an autograph twice.
