Glossy paper, Laminated or Card?

Hello again =) I still haven't sent for any Autograhs yet

I am trying to get used to the site first and find out all the information =)
I was just wondering, if you are sending your pwn photo for a celebrity to sign, is it best to print it on glossy paper, normal paper and then laminate it, or use thin card? I am wary of laminating, becuase they are harder to sign =/
Any information is very much appreciated

Personally I wouldn't laminate them bacause they are - as you also mentioned - not that easy to sign. If I am printing the picture I prefer to use glossy paper because the autograph stands out more than if you use normal or thick paper (non-glossy)

Okay, Thank you
I was thinking also, that Card or Paper wouldn't be as good quality or as strong, and therefor wouldn't be as good for an auction =)

I think you can basically put anything up for auction and get a good price as long as you write a good and catching decription!
But besides that I agree with you - the quality is much nicer on glossy paper

Hi Nammzi
If you are printing out your own photos to send to a celebrity to sign, I would suggest printing your photos onto photo paper (or take your pictures to a photo lab and print them out there).
The pictures come out much nicer than if you were to print them out onto card/paper or by laminating them.
When printing out onto photo paper - you can either have a glossy or matte finish to the photos. I prefer having matte photos because I don't have to worry about seeing fingerprints on them. However, glossy paper looks nicer (but has a tendency to see fingerprints and other marks)
It's really up to you how you would like to print your photos out onto.

Okay =) Thank you. I have no idea what matte finish is, so I will look into that
I have heard that is can be better to buy photos from allposters.com, or Athena, but I live in Scotland. Does anyone know if these places are in Scotland, or if they are US only?

Matte finish is normally describled as a "flat finish" as there's less glare when you look at it because it isn't shiny. The positive of a matte finish is that fingerprints and smudges don't show.

Unless I do not like the photo that a certain celeb sends out (which sounds terrible) or they are doing a movie V.V, I always stick to sending a letter SAE/SASE and/or IRC.
Seeing as you are a newbie, I would start off with sending just a letter SAE/SASE and/or IRC as that is what I did.
Good luck
