Question about storing autographs

Recently I noticed my autograph of Marina Sirtis' signature was crumbling off. Now, this is no doubt from the paint marker she used, and this is now a lost cause to save it at this point. But, is there a way I can prevent this from happening again to any of my other autographs. Lamenating, maybe? Would that be a suggestable solution?
