Hi Pacino
Have you tried going to another post office (say, the main/larger ones)? Sometime smaller post offices might not stock them, but larger ones do.
If you can't buy some, is there any possibility of purchasing stamps from the country you're sending your request to? You can buy the relevant stamps from sites such as eBay, or if you need US stamps - from the USPS website which is found
here.
Or, if you have some money for the country you are sending to, you can send some money (not recommended, but if you do - conceal the money well so it doesn't get stolen or returned to you).
I hope this helps.
Good luck!!

I know how you feel, we don't have IRCs either.
Just try to buy foreign stamps somewhere, and make SASEs instead of IRC + SAEs, that's what I do!

Buddies I am having the same problem. I am in India and as it is it takes ages for letters to reach USA and UK from here. And there are no IRCs here too plus no foreign stamps making things difficult for me.

Some people exchange their countrys money for US currency, then they put the US money in an SASE.

Thats nice idea. But I hope the big personalities dont find it insulting to get 2-3$ in mail for stamps. I say this because they are so rich and famous.

Not in my experience. Several people I've sent cash too overseas, has thanked me for at least providing some money so they could purchase stamps instead of me just sending a SAE & expecting them to pay it. if you show that your sincere in wanting a reply, they don't mind.
