I live in Oregon and I want to send a request to Tom Atkins who lives in New York City. I think, because he lives on the other side of the country, that I will need to put more stamps on the envelope to send a request. How many stamps would I need?

And while I'm on this topic, in the future I plan on sending a request to Brad Loree up in Vancouver, BC. How many stamps for sending that request?

From Oregon to NY I would say 1 or 2 US First Class Stamps

In answer to your second question I would say 3, either that or take it to the Post Office and they will weigh it for you. That way you won't lose any money
