Problem with the Paper or my Ink/Printer?

Unread post by Nammzi »

Hey again =]

I bought some Glossy Paper about a week ago, and it wasn't very good quality, I think it was the cheapest I could find =P The picture I printed off came out fuzzy, and the paper lost it's shine.

I got some better quality paper today, and the same thing happened, only this time the pisture has a horrible neon glow, and Lisa Kudrows top came out a hideous neon blue. It should be white! Is this a problem with the paper I am using, or my ink/printer?

Thanks in advanced ^_^

I would say your printer from the very start. I have some really cheap Glossy Paper and it's fine {up}

Yeah, you've got to check the mannual that came with your printer to see if its a good enough model as some don't accept glossy paper like mine dosen't the chances are if it dosen't you might want to dish out a bit of cash on a new one!

I agree.

I would, as was said, check the manual and see if the printer is meant to print onto glossy paper.

Also check to see if you are low on ink. If there are parts of the picture turning a different color, blue, green or red, then chances are you are low on ink.

I would check them both....if you printer isn't meant to print glossy paper, then perhaps you will want to look into purchasing a better quality printer.

Also, before you print, make sure your printer is set to print on glossy paper. You can do that by clicking on properties when the printer box comes up, then changing the media type.

I tried printing on photo paper with and without changing the settings, and I could really see difference.

Make sure the printer will take high gloss.. Look in the printer preferences when you are about to print.. I allways use the following..

Photo printing borderless
print quality = best
HP premium plus photo paper
borderless 8.5 x 11

You also need to make sure that the picture itself is high enough resolution so that it isnt blocky.

Also, if the colors arent right, your out of ink for that color, IE white, so its coming out blue.. You need a new ink cartridge..

I'd say the printer... cuz if its ink, the paper doesnt control the ink

Also, I got some really nice glossy paper at Staples, try there!

Okay, thank you =) I have changed the settings to the best quality, but it still won't work =/ I have extrenely cheap ink too, my parents don't use the printer much so don't see the point in buying expenzive inks etc :P I'll check the printer manual and setting again, but I think it is the printer :(

Thank you for your help =D

Yeah my printers rubish, so I pay one of my friends to print HQ pics out for me as she's got a really, really good expensive printer.
The other thing you could try is put the pics on to memory card and print them out at a digital print thing, I've done that before and the pics come out very good.

Hmm, I'm not sure if there is anywhere that I could do that near where I am... I am thinking of saving up and splashing out on a photo printer, because it would be good to have for other things, not just for Auctions etc. Also, I really want the best quality photos I can to sell, because I don't want to be selling things that aren't as good as they could be, if you know what I mean =P
