Hi,

I'm from Australia and would like to know how to get postage for the SASE. I was looking at the USUP site and was wondering if online printed postage works?

If I must resort to stamps, how much do photos normally weigh? An ounce? (So I can find out cost using the postage calculator.)

Any help much appreciated, thanks!

When I am sending something to the U.S. I use an International Reply Coupon. There are various topics on here about them, but their basically a voucher which can be exchanged for international postage. You just enclose them loose in your request, along with an envelope that just has your address on. There is some debate over how many to enclose but 2 would probably be ok, and in the UK I get them from the local post office (I guess it would be the same in Australia).

You could buy stamps from the USPS website, but I always prefer to know what i'm getting, rather than pay out the money and find i've got the wrong types of stamps or something.

As for weight, I would say that my letters (2 envelopes, sheet of paper, IRC and blank postcard) would probably weigh 30-40g at a guess. Not sure about that in ounces though.
