Could someone please help me with some ideas on what to say in a letter? I tried writing one to Hugh Jackman, and I hate it! The one to Kenneth Branagh was much easier because I'm a huge fan of his Shakespeare films, but I'm not a really huge fan of Hugh Jackman's movies. I just think he is fabulous eyecandy. How do I write a letter without being a total dork? I would really love a response from him (anybody really).

well what i do is metion that i am his/her biggest fan and also some movies (if he/she is an actor) that they were in that i liked. Also say that they are a great, wonderful, terrific etc. actor and that they are the best actor. THen ask for an autograph by saying something like I know you are very busy but if you could take the time to autograph a pic of yourself for me i would be so VERY happy. end it with a Thanks for reading my letter

This is not an uncommon problem. I often have a hard time when writing sports players and end up spewing some of their stats since I can't think of what else to say.
First, I would recommend taking a paragraph or so to talk about yourself. It distinguishes you from all the other letters and for lack of anything else, it takes up space when you don't know what to say.
Have you seen any of his movies? Even if you don't nessciarily love the film, it's always possible to find a couple of things that you like. Maybe the genre or film or just a sentance or two on how you liked his acting. You can congradulate him on his Tony Award (for the Boy From Oz on Broadway - 2004 I believe) and on all his recent success.
You can also fill some space with questions. What type of movies does he enjoy making the most, who would he enjoy working with, what he likes to do in his spare time, etc. Most likely these questions don't get a responce, but sometimes it's pretty cool and it's nice to know you're letter has been read.
The more research you can do on his work, the better. You might have seen a movie with him that he played a bit part and didn't even realize it.

I also talked about how my co-worker and I keep a picture of him from a magazine in a desk drawer for the really bad days. Of course, I also said I'm looking forward to seeing his upcoming movies and thanks for reading.

Is there anything else I ought to say? I heard somewhere that he was in a Rocky Horror run years ago. Since I love Rocky Horror, should I mention something about that too?

I would. However, I if you're not 100% sure he's done it, pose it as a question (ie "I read somewhere that you were involved with Rocky Horror? Is that true. I happen to love it. etc"). He probably has done it- I know he's done a lot of stage work in Austrailian (I believe he was Gaston in the stage version of Beauty and the Beast there).

BondGirl Pretty much that is probably it but if you havent all ready sent it you should send an SAE/SASE

The only advice I have is, make it come from the heart and dont make every one sound the same. I try to write it as I would want to read it if it were written to me.
