Personalized PP?

Unread post by xXHulkamaniaXx »

I've seen this mentioned a few times and I'm just curious...how does it work?

Does the celeb have PPs all printed up and then someone just goes through, writes your name on it and sends it to you? I figure the celeb must not do it, if they're too busy to even sign their name then I wouldn't imagine they'd write your name on there for you.

What's the deal?

Yeah, maybe a secretary or their agent writes your name...

Or maybe the celeb autographs a bunch of the same pics and when a request comes along the secretary or agent just writes the To: part

Or when you just write a very special letter, the agency waits till they see the celebrity again and let him/her sign it for you, when it is really special.

Id say whoever takes care of the celebs mail puts your name on the pp. the only reason for this that I can think of is so you cant sell it

The thing to remember is with a personalized pre-print is that we really don't know who puts your name on the autograph. It could be the celebrities themselves, their agents/managers, secretaries, et al.

We really don't know who really puts your name on a pre-print which is personalized.

I kinda agree but if the celeb can put your name on it he can autograph it as well. Anyway it's the type of thing we'll never know :D

Hi xXHulkamaniaXx :D

There are celebrities out there who refuse to go through their fan mail due to the fact that they can't be bothered, no time, too popular, too many requests ... As such, they may choose to send out a PP rather than authentically sign themselves.

If a particular celebrity does send out a PP, it's likely that it's being personalised by someone other than the celebrity (e.g. assistant) due to the above reasons.

The personalisation is probably so the photo cannot be sold (as mentioned earlier), or may even be to fool those who are not aware of "fake" autographs.
