How much postage do you put on your envelopes?

I was just wondering how much postage is typically put on your envelopes when sending them out. I have been using a weight scale and the USPS website and my postage has been typically $1.11 each envelope (I am averaging 3.7 ounces). This is for first class postage, is there something cheaper? Someone had said in an earlier discussion that I should be only putting one 63 cent stamp on each envelope, will that be enough postage?

I just feel spending $2.22 on postage is a bit high, especially when there is no guarantee you will get anything back.

Thanks
Glen

If you're weighing your envelopes, you're using the right amount of postage.

Depending on the number of photos I send and the weight of the cardboard backing, I use either $0.84 or $1.11 on my outgoing envelope, and $0.84 on the SASE.

The only way you'd get away with $0.63 postage is if you skipped any kind of cardboard backing... I'd rather spend the extra money and have a good chance of not getting a mangled photo back. :)

Thats what I had thought...I would prefer to get my photos back in the shape I sent them...even if it cost a bit more.

I was just thinking that there might be a lower class than first class...some reason i remember there being a third class postage...but I would assume that would take weeks to get there rather than days. I would prefer days

Thanks for your help
