Stamp Question

I live in Canada but am close enough to the US that I can go over next time I'm there and buy US stamps. Would it work for me if I sent a letter and my self addressed envelope had US stamps on it. It would be a lot cheaper for me than buying IRCs.
Let me know.
Thanks.

Hey there.
If you are sending a letter into the US, then the stamps on the outer envelope have to be from your country (in this case, Canada).
However, if you include a SASE with that request, then the stamps on the SASE have to be from the country you are sending to.

Hey ontariocollector,
Both rpbluesman & dpangel are right.
If it is possible, when you go to get USA stamps to get the $0.87 cent and $0.03cent stamps. It costs about $0.90cent to get your items returned to Canada from the USA. I trade Canadian stamps for USA, and putting $0.90 cents on the
SASE gets my stuff back from anywhere in the USA without extra postage put on.
Good Luck! {thumb2}
