I definitely would not waste my time writing to Derek Jeter or Roger Clemens... they are just not known for answering fan mail. I suspect that they receive too much to keep up with even if they wanted to.
I'm not sure if any of the others on your list are more realistic options, though. (I'm not really a basketball fan.)
You've got to remember, the bigger the star, the more mail they get and the less likely they are to be able to deal with it.
