For US: The 'Forever' Stamp and Postal Price Increase

For the Fanmail.biz Members in the United States:
On March 26, the United States Postal Service unveiled the 'forever stamp', which is a project that has been in the works since July of last year.
The forever stamp is called that because it will cover the cost of postage no matter when it was purchased or used. Meaning, if you bought 1000 of them now at 41 cents a stamp, they could still be used in 75 years, even if the cost of postage then is $5.00.
The forever stamp will go on sale on April 12th, for 41 cents a stamp. In May, the cost of first-class postage will rise to 41 cents.
As the USPS has rasied the cost of postage 13 times in the past 32 years, the forever stamp is definitely worth checking out. It could save you a lot of money in the long run.
The forever stamp features the liberty bell, and will be sold in coils of 100, sheets of 20 or 100, and individual quanities. The USPS is also expected to unveil a flag forever stamp by April 12th.
Does the UK already have a similar version of this?

First, the forever stamps go on sale in April. The actual raise however is in May. And dgangel I'm afraid but you're wrong with that.

We have always been able to use earlier stamps as long as we tack on extra postage to cover the current price. Even though the current rate is $.39, you may choose to use $.37 stamps as long as you add extra postage to it. Stamps are good for their affixed price and may be used regardless of the current rate.

I thought she meant can you use just 39cents, and will that cover postage.
But as for the postage changing in mid-May, I did not know about that.
Thanks for letting me know

The rate increases are why I always go over what the postage is for SASE's .
Costs me a little more especially if I mail out several at a time but when I get them back I'm not worried about cost anymore.
