I received a 9x12 from california to ny it reached me with 80 cents postage and I received one from ny to ny and it cost 97 cents postage, same exact weight. I'm just throwing 3 stamps on all my sase that ensures enough postage.

uhhh.... i tried the calculator thing and i got $4.60 i don't think that's right. I filled in the info and it came out that price.

For a large envelope weighing 1 oz, Priority Mail is $4.60. You want First-Class Mail, which only costs $0.80.

Try using the calculator again. Make sure you look carefully at the price of First-Class Mail.
