I'm new here, just started to try to collect. Does anyone have any tips for me?

one of the big tips is BE PATIENT. It takes from a week to 3 years to get something back

Some tips off the top of my head:

Always try to include a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope), or a Self Addresses Envelope and an IRC if you are sending to another country.

Always write a letter saying a little abgout youself (name, age, why you are collecting if for charity etc), ask them politely for an autographed photogreaph or memorabilia, and thank them for their time.

If you are sending VV (Via Venu) then always try to include a photegraph for them to sign, as it is unlikely that they will have a photo supply with them on a film set, concert etc.

If you revieve a RTS (Return To Sender) wait about 3 to 4 months before trying again.

And the most important tip that anyone can give you: Be Patient And Don't Give Up!! If you have a dry spell where you recieve nothing back for a while, don't get disheartened, because you will get something back sooner or later
