How to Choose?

Not sure what happened but my other thread was deleted. I am new to collecting and was wondering what color Sharpies are best to use if a picture has a lot of medium to dark colors. I have a particular picture I would like to get autographed but it has a lot of black and dark blue. Can anyone give some advice?

Silver or gold. Although, I have yet to find a silver Sharpie that lasts for more than one or two impressions. Both can take a while to dry. The gold really stands out, although I have not used it myself (I have a photo where a gold sharpie was used on a blue background.) Also have to be carefully on storing them, as either one can transfer impressions to a sleeve protector.

Thank you for your response. I was at a comic con last year where I got an autograph from Willa Holland, and she signed in gold. Sadly, the autograph wore off a bit on the protective sleeve. if I post the picture I want to use, would you be able to tell me more certain what to use?

Gold always stands out better, at least in the photos I have. Not sure how to prevent the rubbing, though.
