Question on Addressing

Hello,

I apologize if this has been asked before. I looked through the FAQ's that I found as well as ran several searches and am still clueless.

When you write a fan letter do you address the actual letter formally or informally? For example, if writing Christian Slater is is better to write Dear Mr. Slater or Dear Christian?

Thanks in advance!

I always write Mr. Slater in my letter and on the SASE, I address it to Mr. Christian Slater. It shows a little respect for the celeb you are writing to.

Welcome to "Fanmail" and good luck in your autograph collecting adventures  . Feel free to PM me w/ any questions you may have.

Thank you for the welcome as well as for the response!

That's actually how I was planning on addressing things. I figured formally would be better. I've always wanted to collect autographs from people I admire. I've just never known how =)
