Does anyone in Australia know how to find out when and where movie premiers are held in Melbourne? Because I always find out about them the DAY AFTER they've been...i see them on the news. I've been upset cause I missed 'The History of Violence' premier which Viggo actually attnded! And I would have given anything to have gone and seen him! Can anyone help?

Hi Sai,
You can check out this link for the Melbourne International Film Festival
HERE
You could try waiting at one of the movie premieres screening there, possibly there is someone attending you may like to try!! They are normally just as good as a regular movie premiere as long as they have somewhere for people to stand for autographs and such.
You can also have a look
HERE which tells you of some celebrities and films being showed there.
Hope that helps a bit!

Hi Sai
There is a movie premiere coming up in Melbourne next month -
The Bourne Ultimatum ... and Matt Damon is going to be there {thumb2} !!! (If you're wondering, he is my favourite actor! {love} {love})
I'm just hoping that I can make it and get a good spot, considering that I'll actually be working that day and will have to rush from the city to the premiere (which means I
may only get there around 1/2 hour early).
Just to let you know, it's on the 8th of August at the Rivoli Cinemas in East Hawthorn. From a bit of research, I believe that the premiere is set for 6:30 pm.
There's not really a best way to find out about movie premieres here in Australia, they're usually few and far between. I would suggest keep an eye out in newspapers (especially the Herald Sun) or magazines of word that a celebrity may be in town or attending premieres. You should also check out the Village Cinemas website or Hoyts as they will normally post any sort of details of premieres there.

LOL
That's exactly how I felt when I first heard he was coming to Melbourne for the premiere!! He is my favourite actor and I'm REALLY looking forward to the film {love}
I think arriving an hour early will get you a decent spot to see/meet him, but obviously arriving as early as possible will give you the best postition though
I'm just hoping that I can make it early enough to get a good spot, considering I'll have to rush straight from work in the city there

. Fingers crossed really ... I'm so excited already I can't wait

P.S. At this rate we might actually see each other there

Other than being at the front whats the best place to be? Middle along the carpet, the front near where he arrives or towards the entrence of the cinema? I thought middle would be good so You can take some photos before he comes along but I've never been to a premier before so I have no idea whats best! How many people normally turn up at the Melbourne movie prmiers?
Oh and in case I do make it there and so do you here's my myspace so you know what I look like if you want

I hope you can make it there early! Good luck!

Hi Sai (again)
I've never been to a premiere either, so the Bourne Ultimatum premiere should be my first too.
Well, I think the first thing to worry about would be to get a spot at the front. I think around the middle is good spot if you can get it, or else anywhere up to the entrance.
I would probably expect a few hundred people to turn up.
