I really wanna get a reply from my favourite actor but do you think it'll work if I send a SAE and 1 USD to England? Can I still get a reply?

Try sending a few IRC's instead. As if you send $1 it will cost more than its worth to have it exchanged, and it still wont meet the cost to send a large letter to the USA. Last time I checked it was £1.12 which is over $2. So I think 2 IRC's should be better.
