Some questions

If I'm sending an index card, is a standard 4 by 9 envelope with an index card and other envelope folded inside good enough?

Also, what is the best thing to send to an author to sign, besides a book? I'm not sure if I have enough for the postage.

If you only have little postage, I would just send what you are sending. Make sure you put a stamp on the return envelope though.

The best thing to send an author if not wanting to send your book is a bookplate which is basically a 3x4 sticker. You can purchase them at most any book store for about 40 cents a piece but an index card is fine.

I usually send authors index cards to sign, and ask if they have a bookmark or book plate. So far, it's been extremely successful!
