you could type your letter into here
http://www.google.com/translate_t
and just explain that it might sound choppy because you used a translator

I could try Spanish. I might not get it perfectly. Otherwise, I suggest you use any of the following online translators: Any of those would work. I do, however recommend that you use one of the first two. If any of these fail, I do have one other idea. If you are a student, you could ask one of the Spanish teachers at your school to translate (I doubt that your school would have German as a language option, but maybe not...). You would get your letter, and the teacher would like you even more for showing extra interest in the language.

I hope I could help. Good Luck!

oh no, don't use it for german, german is a difficult language and if you translate it from english to german, nobody will understand what you meen, it would be better if you would write in english letter than a english-to-germand-translated-letter.

I could try to translate it into german, if you want.

Well to be honest, most online translators are a bit off. You're best bet would be to find someone who speaks the language, either a teacher or someone on here to translate it for you

But the google translator seems to get pretty close.

Take these examples of English to French

I missed a step and fell = J'ai raté une marche et je suis tombé
Google's translation = J'ai raté une marche et est tombée (close, but not precise)

My name is Daniel = Je m'applle Daniel
Google's translation = Mon nom est Daniel (Another way of saying it)

I didn't hear my alarm clock = Je n'ai pas entendu mon réveil
Google's translation = Je n'ai pas entendu mon réveil (exactly the same)

So my reccomendation would be to either ask a teacher first (if you're a student), then ask someone on here, then punch your letter into the Google translator and see how close it comes to the person you asked to help you. I can't really help you because I only know French ;-)

Sometimes they sound a little off when using a translator. But DO NOT use an online translator for German. 9 times out of 10 it is un-readable because it makes no sense.

My French teacher says that Google translator is not right... how do I know? lol

But if you use it, the person would appreciate that you have made the effort for the person to read it easily :)

Just a thought {up}

Well from what I punched into it, they come out pretty darn close. I imagine that the person would be able to at least make out what you're trying to say ;-)
