My number one advice is to make sure your celebrity is still alive before writing them! I had a very embarrassing situation were I didn’t check my facts- I wrote a letter to the author Scott O’Dell. I requested an autograph. I really wanted his autograph because I loved his novels when I was a kid. His wife wrote me back saying her husband past away…. 18 years ago!
Let’s just say I was very embarrassed. So, make sure the person is still alive! lol
I -almost- sent for Don Knotts and realized..he's dead. Ofcourse, he didn't die that long ago. I never heard about it until I was considering writing a letter.
Thanks Ian,
Dead or alive info .com? What are they going to come up with next. Since I collect alot of Military WWII era. I'm constantly searching before writing hoping not to make the same mistake as GABORWORLD.
Here GABORWORLD have 2 rudolphs [reindeer] [reindeer]
lol! I have that problem with NFL players. I write to a lot of old players and hope one day I don't do the same. . Thanks for the laugh and sorry for your embarrasment!
Oh man, that's terrible, I'm sorry! I usually write to younger people so I'm not too worried about this, the only one that worries me is the one I sent to Gloria Stuart....I know she's still alive now, but she's getting really old.
