Just out of curiosity how much does it cost to mail a letter to Canada and Germany? From the States.

I believe 90c standard letter. Same pretty much anywhere.

For a regular letter -

To Canada - 69 cents
To Germany - 90 cents

well lets say that you might not have put enough postage on an envelope, then what happens to the mail? is it sent back to you or is it just left at the post office?

Depends on your post office - they might send it back to you or go to the person you're sending to and ask them to pay extra. Sometimes they don't do anything.

Yeh, I've actually gotten a couple with improper postage on it! That only happens for me on tuesdays when the fill-in mailman is working. Most of the time it gets sent back to you or given to your recipient with the option to pay the "missing" postage.

so, canada is only 69c, huh? I learned something new today! Thanks! I've never mailed anything to canada yet, but soon.

Glad you learned about it! Just simply go to usps.com the next time you want to find postage rates from the US.
