How many stamps?

I want to mail one of those envelopes where you can fit a 8 x 10 photo in and stick a SASE inside. How many stamps would it cost to send it to someone in your own state? Or how much postage?

Usually, I put just 1 first class stamp but I would suggest about 2 first class stamps. It would cost the same to mail in any state.

9x12 envelope is considered as a large envelope so you have to pay more. For 1 ounce, it's only 80 cents. That's for the SASE only.
Now the problem is this, when I put that SASE inside another envelope, it weights more than 1 ounce. It's about 1.1 ounce. Because there are 2 envelopes plus a letter. 1 envelope goes to the celeb, and 1 SASE to return the photo to me.
Another problem is this. If I put the SASE inside a No. 10 envelope, then the postage is only 58 cents to go. But if I put the SASE inside a large envelope, then the postage is 97 cents. And that's the problem. They count the size of the envelope too.
9x12 SASE = 80 cents
if you use No. 10 envelope (4 1/8" x 9 1/2") to mail = 58 cents
or if you use 9x12 envelope to mail = 97 cents
It's confusing.

But the SASE is only 2 .48 stamps right? Meaning only .80 cents?

Welcome to the forum :razz:
As moonson said all you need to do is check the postage price with through the postal caculator on the usps site. All u have to d ois enter the weight of your letter, then select the country u are mailing to.

I always send a 9x12 envelope with a letter, SASE of the same size, and sometimes 1-2 8x10 photos inside, and I always put 2 stamps on it (41 cents each). I have never gotten an RTS due to insufficient postage. I've had several successes with this postage as well. I also put two 41 cent stamps on my SASE and they always come back as is, with no additional postage.
