hey autographnewbie! Welcome to the boards!

I think telling a star that you're a big fan is alright! Usually, I just tell them I'm a huge fan of their work.

I'm not really sure what else you need to know. I think you're doing good so far.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!

Hello autographnewbie! ;-)

Welcome to Fanmail.biz! {clap} I hope you enjoy it here! :mrgreen:

Very important when writing your letter, is to keep it short to one page only. {up} You can write about why you like the celebrity, what projects you like of them/why you like their sport and what you're looking forward to (see thei movie, support them in their next sport game, ect.). You can also write about yourself, anything you think that would interest them - they want to get to know their fans!

To see info on what to include in your envelope, click here. You can also check out this topic. {thumb2}

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask! :D You will soon get lots of successes, keep it up!

Welcome to the forum! {thumb2} if you need any help regarding your collecting and collection, feel free to PM me. Americans, as any nationality, will most certainly reply to you no matter where you are in the world. A minority will only reply if you provide return postage, but on the whole, I've never paid return postage for any of my requests, and have received tons of autographs back. However, I would say that it is essential to at least include a self-addressed envelope for the return.

Um, on another point, are you by any chance South African too? :lol: just noticing the affection towards Immelman's autograph, and we're the only lot that usually say 'hey' upon completing our sentences :mrgreen: 8)

Hey! :mrgreen:

My first bit of advice is to be patient! Celebrities can even take years to respond to you. You should keep your letter short like Lizanne said, most celebrities just sign a batch of autographs, and leave it to their agents to sort out, so they'll be likely not to read it.
Thirdly, I'd recommend that you send IRCs to the celebrities in different countries, send two to three per envelope, this covers the postage - you can't expect the celebrity to pay for postage. To find out more about IRCs go to [What is an IRC?]

That's about it. Any questions, PM me ;-)
