Obviously, you will need to write your letter in a style that feel comfortable to you, but I hope this gives you a few pointers!Dear "Whoever",
I hope you don't mind, but I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say how much I enjoyed seeing you in (whatever).
I have followed your career very closely, and you really are one of my favourite (actors/actresses etc). The part I especially like was (whatever).
I hope you don't mind me asking, but I would really appreciate a signed photograph of you if that is possible. Of course if you are unable I will totally understand.
Just in case you can help me I have enclosed a self addressed stamped envelope together to cover the postage.
