hey,

I was writing a letter to president Bush sr. today with the intention of requesting his autograph...but I couldn't bring myself to ask him. It seemed so inapropriat. So I sent him a letter telling him how much I respect him, hoping he might respond.

Has anyone ever written to a former president...and if so, how did you ask him for an autograph? how did you formulate your request?

Hi Kev1n {up}

You will probably do OK, I have heard of several other people getting an auto back from from George Bush Snr just by writing a letter.

I would think he gets a fair amount of mail a day so you might have to wait a bit!

One thing I would say it that you shouldn't feel bad about just asking for an autograph - as long as you are polite and sincere then nobody can be offended.

Most people in the public eye are used to being asked for autographs, and I can almost guarantee you won't offend anyone as long as you are respectful {up}

Good luck, and be sure to leave some feedback if/when you get your autograph.
