Unread post by fan0258 »

Hey,

I was wondering if that's ok to start the letter with saying my name, how old I am and where I'm from?

Thats how I start. It's a good way to introduce yourself.

i know a lot of people think that its wrong but i have a document saved that is basically an outline that i use for every letter i put my name and address in the upper-right hand corner so theres no confusion about the address, My opening paragraph reads....

Dear _____,

First and foremost I want to thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I’m sure that you get a ton of fan mail everyday, so I really appreciate you taking the time to read mine. My name is , I’m years old, and I live in
. I am a huge fan of yours...

My finishing paragraph reads

Finally, if it isn’t too much trouble, I would really appreciate it if you could send me back a personalized signed photo. I realize that with your popularity, it may be hard to accommodate the personalization part of it, so if you cannot then I can understand. But if you could do this for me, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you again so much for your time, and I want to wish you continued good luck in your career.

Thanks Again.
Sincerely,

Name

anyone is welcome to use this in their letters if they want to.[/u]

Hi {up}

I think this basic template for a letter is great.

Because I have had to mail out so many requests for autos for the auction I have had to stick to a basic template myself. I don't really see the problem with this, and you can always add a personal "extra" line if you want to refer to the particular celeb.

For example I often stick an extra line in the letter mentioning their current film / album / show etc.

I also normally add what I like seeing them in. That way they know its not the same format and that the only reason I am sending it is to get an autograph, which its not.

also in some cases one should keep the letter short. some celebs are pretty busy so if you send them a long letter, they may not read it.
