Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Well, The Great American Clash (catchy name) is in the books huh.
It was a fairly stacked card in terms of local talent put on by the local NWA group. They're only 30 minutes from my house and Colt Cabana, who I'm a big fan of was on the show, so the wife and I made the trip.
There was a meet and greet prior to the show.
Got in after waiting for 30 minutes in the blistering heat. Colt was the first gimmick table once inside.
I asked for a photo with him and if the NWA World Title could be in it. He said that's $5. I figured why not. I doubt Ric Flair and Harley Race did that with the NWA World Title, but hey, it's a different time for the group.
Only complaint was that there was a little too much daylight leaking through the curtain and the flash didn't go off on the camera. I corrected it, though, in photoshop and I think it's good to go.
After the photo, I pulled out my binder and asked him to sign some photos of him that I'd brought. He said it would be $5 per. I told him I'd think about it and moved on, figuring everyone else was charging.
To my surprise, no one else was.
The two talents from WLW (Harley Race's promotion) Stacey O'Brien (Women's Champion) and Jason Jones (Heavyweight Champion) both signed for free. I also bought one of Stacey's trading cards.
"Soulman" Rocky Johnson was making another appearance for this group and he signed two WWF promos, one Memphis promo and the photo op I had taken with him earlier for us and at no charge. He remembered me and held up the line talking to me for a minute or two.
Tommy Gilbert (Father of Eddie Gilbert and Doug Gilbert) was also there as a "legend" attraction. He signed a total of three photos for us.
Local wrestler Jon Michael, who has had some TV exposure regionally, also signed some pics for me.
After I finished with the line, I returned to my seat and pondered my next move with Cabana.
When the line thinned a little I went back. He asked me how many pictures I had and I told him four (three Colts and one Matt Classic). He said he'd sign them all for $10. I went for that and Colt even threw in one of his own photos when he saw I was mulling over the option with money in hand.
Colt was a little unsure about signing for Matt Classic, but figured his trainer wouldn't mind too much.
Satisfied, I went back to my seat, but realized I had not looked into purchasing the "Colt of Personality" T-shirt.
Thus, I returned to his table once more and purchased the shirt (It's my first wrestling shirt buy in years). I also cut a deal where he'd sign the three photos of him from ROH's Bluegrass Brawl that I took for my wife since I bought the shirt.
During the second intermission, I got local talent Eric Wayne, who might have TNA or WWE potential someday, to sign three pics I took of him at a previous show.
So, there ya go. Altogether, I came away with 30 autographs. My wife got two of Cabana, who she is also a big fan of.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
That Rocky Johnson old WWF promo is awesome. I met Colt Cabana at a show back in 2006, he's a real good dude to the fans so glad to see that hasn't changed much.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Go to the top where it says Search Fanmail.biz and type in names to see results for that person. You likely won't be getting Undertaker or Kane. Also look back on this forum for addresses and feedback.
