Envelope Question
I have never shipped anything to another country. I was wanting to mail a letter and SASE to England from USA. Do I need a special envelope or can I use my regular yellow envelopes that I usely use? Also how many stamps do I use on it? SASE too?

Hi grapher
No, you will not need any special envelopes. You can use the same envelopes you normally use for requests within your country, just don't forget to write AIR MAIL on the envelopes and stick enough postage on it.
You should send your SASE as how you would within your country. If you can't get US stamps for your SASE, you will need to send along a SAE and International Reply Coupons (to cover return postage).
I'm not sure of exact costs associated with sending a request from England to the US, but I'm sure another member can help you out.

Hi grapher
If you just substitute 'US' to 'England' and vice versa in nowandagain's post then the same should apply
Paul
P.S Just to let everyone else know I think 50p should cover the costs of sending a request from England to USA

UK -> US up to 20g: 0.72£
UK -> US up to 40g: 1.12£
US -> UK up to 1 ounce (about 28-29g): 0.84$
When I send to US, I buy stamps to cover 0.84$ which I think is enough at least for me.
When I send to UK, I usually buy stamps to cover 0.6£. It covers up to 20g easily, and it's only 0.04£ too less for 40g (sending to Europe and US is different prices from UK).
Hope this helped a bit! Good luck!
