People who sell autographs
What do you guys think about people that sell celebs' autographs for their own profit? I don't like the idea of it at all.

Re: People who sell autographs
I dont see anything wrong with it. They sell because theres a demand. If collectors didnt want to buy, there would be no sellers.
I dont see why some people think its so wrong, and I've never seen a good reason why either.

I totally agree with this comment ;)Lucas42 wrote:I don't really like the idea, but I can't really think of anything wrong with it if all parties are aware. The only thing I have a major problem with is when somebody actually writes a letter for an autograph pretending to be a fan, and then sells it, that is very wrong.

Thanks to Seb for my beautiful set!

I hate that too. Those are usually the ones that end up on ebay. Then the celeb doesn't want to sign TTM anymore. The only time I sell any of my autographs is when I have doubles. And I usually only sell my double pre prints. Rarely ever do I sell an authentic.Lucas42 wrote:I don't really like the idea, but I can't really think of anything wrong with it if all parties are aware. Hi,
I dont see any problem with selling autographs as long as u dont obtain ur items by pretending to be a fan of them.
jason.

Re: People who sell autographs
i dont really like the idea because you should get them yourself, not let others get them and then sell them for their own proffit. if the autograph you want can no longer be obtained because the star has passed away then thats an exeption. the famous person whos autograph you are buying has signed it for the person who requested it to keep. not to sell for money. i am talking about the seller being wrong not the buyer.

Sorry, I dont mean to come off as rude, but thats an absurd thing to say.theharrypotterstar wrote:if you are an autograph collector you should collect them yourself, not let other people get them and then you buy them, its ridiculous.
Its near on impossible for the average collector to obtain everyone they want either TTM or IP. Buying is the only route for a lot of fans. We dont all have huge bank balances, and months/years of spare time to travel the world in an attempt to get an autograph for our collections. Even if we DID have an endless supply of money and free time, its still next to impossible to get everyone you want.
What about starts that have passed that we were unable to get during his/her lifetime? Is it also "ridiculous" to purchase it?
"Autograph collecting" is not restricted to TTM and IP. "Autograph collecting" is the collecting of autographs, whether it be TTM/IP/trading/purchasing.
